

Fun Fact: On Thanksgiving, literally the only places open (at least around where I live) are the gas station and the 7-11. BUT, between the two, you can find apples, flour, sugar, butter, salt, and vinegar. If you already have cinnamon and nutmeg lying around, and maybe some bourbon to add a little something to the filling… this is enough to make an impromptu mini apple pie. You’re welcome.
Recipe (precise instructions and details to come)
Dough:
- 3 3/4 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 sticks unsalted butter
- 3/4 cups ice cold water with a dash of cider vinegar in it
- 1 egg for egg wash
- sugar to sprinkle on top
Filling:
- 2-3 apples, peeled & cut into small thin pieces
- 1 Tbs cinnamon (add more or less to your personal taste)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 dash vanilla extract
- 1 hefty dash bourbon
- 2 Tbs butter
- salt (to taste)
